Oceanside NY Yellow Pages

Oceanside is a hamlet in the town of Hempstead on the South Shore of Long Island. The hamlet is just a short nine miles from JFK airport and about 30 minutes for New York City. Reverend Denton sent John Carmen and Reverend Robert Fordham to the area in 1643 to found a new settlement. They found an area that was uninhabited and purchased the land once known as Christian Hook, Oceanville.

The Oceanside School District serves the area through one kindergarten, six elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, as well as one alternative high school. The community is dotted with fine dining, fast food, bars, pubs, and antique shops. The homes in the area are spectacular with a wide array of architectural designs including capes, ranches, split levels, and colonials.

The Oil City Skatepark is the only indoor skate park on Long Island offering a course offing ramps and rails.
